What it means to be "Alive"

The last few weeks, I have been on a journey of self-growth and understanding, and have come across the true meaning of being “Alive”.

What truly amazed me during this journey, was meeting some truly amazing individuals with a “purpose” who are filled with energy and passion. I don’t see that in people often and started wondering what is it that gets us trapped and keeps us away from this state of life.

  • Why are here and what are we on this earth to do?

  • What does it mean to truly be alive?

It is said that “Most people die at the age of 25 and are not buried until they are 75.” The reason for this, is that many individuals stop growing (within) at 25. They get trapped in the cycle of life, whether it's paying bills or doing the same things over and over again; yet deep inside there is a void. There is something missing, an excitement or a fire that burns with life inside. The true fact is that so many of us settle for life; we settle to be safe and comfortable and ignore our hearts, passions and soul purpose.

The Dalai Lama referred to this exact concept in his answer when someone asked “what surprised him most about humanity?”

I believe that every soul and individual put on this Earth is put here for a reason. You are each unique, and incredible beings that can do great things. The only thing holding humanity back is so many of us don’t know how to tap into our purpose and see how the world works!

There are 3 main questions to ask:

  1. What do I love?

  2. When in my life do I seem fully complete?

  3. How does what I love and completes me affect the world?

It is known that for a purpose to be strong, inspiring, and one that takes you all the way, it should be connected to the world, which is beyond family and your own self-gains. It should be beyond money and would satisfy you to do it for free if you had to, and lastly it needs to be simple enough where anyone can understand, even a child.

Once you awaken to your life purpose, you will no longer relive the same day twice. Whether in failure or success, you will see that this world is dependent on you and will truly change if you pursue it.

With a purpose you will feel complete, your entire sense of feeling “Alive” awakens. You break the habit of settling for life. Your family will even look up to you more and love you more for embracing for the real reason you were put on this Earth. The best part of that is once you see this you are now awakened, you have seen a new way of life that 90% of all humanity will never see before their last day.

As a gift, if you find your “purpose” please take it on to show someone else theirs, for we need awakened people in this world that will help us move leaps and bounds forward and touch millions of lives to come.
